Chattanooga Fitness Expo 2026
July 11th is almost here — and for the fifth year in a row, Rekall Media Group will be on the floor of the Chattanooga Fitness Expo capturing every rep, every pose, and every moment that makes this event one of the best fitness competitions in the Southeast.
Five years as the official media team of an event now in its sixth year. That’s not a coincidence. That’s a relationship built on showing up, delivering, and understanding what this community is about.
What Is the Chattanooga Fitness Expo?
If you’re in the fitness world in the Chattanooga area and you haven’t been to the Chattanooga Fitness Expo, you’re missing out. Now in its sixth year, the expo is held indoors at the Coca-Cola facility at Erlanger Park — not outside, despite what some people assume. It’s a fully indoor event, which means the atmosphere is dialed in and the energy stays contained in the best possible way.
This is where competitive bodybuilders, physique athletes, bikini competitors, and fitness enthusiasts all come together under one roof. The athletes who compete here have spent months dieting, training, and grinding — and when they finally step on stage, it shows. It’s one of the most visually dramatic events in the region, and it’s one of the reasons I fell in love with fitness photography in the first place.
Why Fitness Photography at a Competition Is Different
Shooting a fitness expo isn’t like shooting a portrait session in a park. The lighting is dramatic and fast-changing. Athletes are moving between pump-up areas, prejudging, and finals. The stage has its own energy that you either capture or you miss entirely.
As a Chattanooga fitness photographer who has covered this event for five consecutive years, I’ve learned how to read the room. I know when an athlete is about to hit their peak pose. I know where the light hits best on that stage. I know the difference between a shot that documents a moment and a shot that tells the story of what that athlete went through to get there.
